Always on His Mind

From today's devotional

If you've ever been madly in love with someone, you know what it's like to have him or her "on the brain." In all that you do, you just can't keep yourself from thinking about them. They're the first thing that fills your head when you wake up and the last thing on your mind as you drift off to sleep. Eating, working, driving, carrying on a conversation... it doesn't matter-the object of your love is what's on your mind.

Did you know that this is just a hint of how much God loves and thinks about you? It's true. God's love for you is so intense that you're always on His mind.

Right now, at this very moment, He's thinking about you because He loves you that much. And even if you wanted to, it would be impossible to count His thoughts towards you. They're more than can be numbered!

Make sure you stop and receive that truth into your heart, because the temptation to question God's love and awareness is always right around the corner. Things happen in this life that challenge what this Psalm tells us, things that make us feel unloved and forgotten. But truth isn't based on our feelings.

Truth is based on what God has declared in His Word, and His Word unmistakably tells us that He loves us to such an extent that we're always on His mind. Let that be the foundation for your day!

Lord, who are we that You would love us and think of us as You do? Soften our hearts to simply receive this truth and give us the opportunity to share it with others. Things happen in this life that make us feel unloved and forgotten.

Make sure you stop and receive God's truth into your heart, because the temptation to question God's love and awareness is always right around the corner.

Think About It...

What does this passage reveal to me about God?

What does this passage reveal to me about myself?

Based on this, what changes do I need to make?

What is my prayer for today?
